Rockin' Wreath

Recycle old records and sheet music into this hip wreath.

Here's what you'll need:

• 1 record
• 1 roll of green yarn, hemp, or jute (I used jute because it's super cheap)
• 1 page of old sheet music
• 1 pair of scissors
• glue
• staples

Instructions:
1.) Wrap the jute around the record. I think it's cool to leave some of the record peeking through.
2.) Here's how to make the bow.

Salt Dough Ornaments

These ornaments are a little labor intensive, but very cheap and fun to make. Simply follow the tutorial and let your imagination run wild! Salt Dough Instructions (I had to add a little extra water. ADD SMALL AMOUNTS AT A TIME!)

I just painted mine white and used them like little canvases! VERY customizable. The first is for my roomate who is a grad student working on a spider project, the second is for my mom who loves snowmen.

If you don't want to make your own you can buy one from me for $5 each.

"OCCUPY" This Holiday Season!

Instead of Black Friday shopping look for vintage deals and steals at your local thrift store ,or sleep in and search Etsy in your pajamas. It doesn't take a lot to help out a local artist or business this holiday season and you will feel extra merry knowing that you're helping out your neighbors.

Super Soaps

If I would have known how easy it was to make soaps...let's just say, my craft table would look like a Bath and Body display. It's so simple and it's pretty darn cheap! I made mine unscented and added vitamin E so it's mild enough to gift to anyone on your list.

Ingredients:

• Glycerin soap blocks
• Vitamin E
• Dye
• Soap Molds

1.) melt the soap blocks in the microwave in 30 second intervals.
2.) mix in Vitamin E and color by the drop.
3.) pour soap into the mold.
4.) let cool for 1 hour.
5.) unmold.

Add a ribbon and a cute holiday colored washcloth and they're ready to give!

Easy Tree Embroidery

A few simple stitches and you too can have a simple, mod, Christmas tree of your own.

You will need:

• Fabric (check the remnant bin)
• Embroidery Hoop
• Embroidery Thread
• Cute buttons! (vintage and varied look cuuute)

You're ready to go! It only took around 20 mins to create this little guy-

Holiday Hair Flower

Your friends won't even believe it was YOU who handcrafted this surprisingly simple craft!

A Very Merry Terrarium!

Terrariums are so hot right now. These are an eco friendly gift for anyone on your list (even those tough to buy for dads), and the best part is...they're succulents! No green thumb required!

For the Eco Cactus Terrarium you will need:
1 cactus
2 mini succulents
a scoop of dirt
a handful of pebbles
1 (empty) 2 liter bottle
1 tea light candle
Reindeer Moss

• Step 1: Use scissors or a saw to cut the 2 liter bottle in half.
• Step 2: Take the bottom half of the bottle and hold the cut edge up to the lit candle carefully melting the edges until smooth.
• Step 3: After the bottle cools scatter the pebbles on the bottom of the bottle for draining.
• Step 4: Add soil and plants.
• Step 5: Add a little water, garnish with moss and/or holiday accents, and give!

For a more elegant look use steps 3-5 with a small glass bowl and a smooth succulent:





I found the glass dishes, pebbles, and reindeer moss at Dollar Tree, and the plants and soil at Lowes :)

Sweetheart Tree Garland

To make this garland you will need:
1 roll of floral wire
Assorted paint chips (you will need several)
1 medium heart punch (available for purchase at Hobby Lobby)
1 hole punch
1 Pair of scissors

• Step 1: Punch paint chips to make heart shapes.
• Step 2: Punch hole near the top center of the heart.
• Step 3: String hearts onto floral wire, twisting as you go.
• Step 4: Hang anywhere that needs cheer :)
